Aurora, OH: Video Products Inc (VPI) today announced the addition of the 4K HDMI RedMere Active Cable to its popular line of HDMI cables. The cables have an embedded chipset which boosts the signal from the source, making them ideal for connecting a 4K display at longer distances than a standard HDMI cable.
VPI’s RedMere active cables support Bandwidth to 10.2 Gbps, and support HDTV resolutions to 4K at 30Hz and 1080p at 60Hz. The high speed HDMI Type A RedMere cables support Deep Color up to 16-bits per channel and 3D. Active cables have a built-in equalizer, enhancing the video signal without the use of a power source.
The 4K RedMere Active cables are directional, with connector ends that are labeled. The cables are available in lengths up to 100 feet. They have a wire gauge of 28AWG for lengths up to 60ft and 24AWG to lengths up to 100ft.
